Ever Had A Travel Romance That You Just Can’t Forget?

Hey guys, about seven months back, I had this travel fling with another solo traveler, both of us 24-year-old dudes. Surprisingly, things got deeper, and now I can’t shake off the breakup vibes. Anyone else been there? We crossed paths while exploring solo, and the connection was instant. In just three days, we vibed on a whole other level – deep talks, shared values, matching personalities. Being two gay men in a pretty uptight place cranked up the intensity. What started as a holiday crush soon bloomed into something more. Post our meet-up, we texted non-stop. He even flew over to visit me a while later, and I returned the favor in January (we live in different EU countries). The spark each time we met was as strong as ever. I was head over heels by then. But, while he had feelings, he approached it more practically. We kept the daily texting routine but without solid plans for the next rendezvous (he was vague about future trips). For my sanity, I hit pause on our chats about six weeks ago, yet he’s on my mind day in, day out. I miss our talks and the unique bond we shared. Any of you still hung up on a travel romance? How’d you move past it? If you did, that is, haha. Hit me up with your own stories or tips. P.S. It’s awesome to see how many folks relate to my post! So many cool perspectives, movie suggestions, and shared experiences. I reckon the takeaway is to cherish it as a great memory and a lesson learned, and focus on what lies ahead. It’s comforting to know many of us have been through the same thing. Peace out! ✌
